We offer a limited number of new memberships each year at Great Lakes Gliding Club.

Fee Structure

Prices listed are exclusive of HST, and are subject to change. Great Lakes Gliding Corporation HST # 887917623.

Membership Dues

Full Member $ 600.00 per annum
Family Member $ 150.00 per additional family member
Student Member $ 400.00 enrolled full time in an educational institution
Associate Member $ 250.00 out-of town/other club/visiting on an ad hoc basis
Joining Fee $ 600.00 new members are required to invest in the club - payable over three years

Members Flying Charges

1000' tow $ 26.00 aerotow above ground
2000' tow $ 42.00 aerotow above ground
3000' tow $ 58.00 aerotow above ground
4000' tow $ 74.00 aerotow above ground
5000' tow $ 90.00 aerotow above ground
Rope breaks $ 24.00 up to 500' ($ 26.00 between 500' and 1000')
Glider Rental $ 0.90 per minute
Aerotow retrieval $ 300.00 retrieve by tow plane (off-field retrieval of gliders by air) per engine hour

Joining the Soaring Association of Canada (SAC)

Solo pilots are encouraged to be members of the Soaring Association of Canada (SAC). SAC membership, currently $80.00, includes third party liability insurance and a subscription to Free Flight, the SAC magazine. All members under the age of 25 and enrolled full-time at an educational institution are members of SAC at no charge.
